Functional safety you can measure, not just claim in a document.
Control loops in safety-related ECUs have to react on time, every time. This experiment uses AURIX TC275 lockstep platforms to show deterministic loops, supervised execution, and fault reactions with hard evidence.
We design the safety messaging in simulation first, then prove the same behavior on silicon with timing captured on a scope.
Technical Overview
Platforms: Infineon AURIX TC275 Lite Kit with lockstep cores, oscilloscope, signal generator, debug links, and CAN-FD interfaces.
E2E-protected CAN-FD heartbeat structures come from the code generator; corrupted heartbeat injection runs on Virtual Bus then physical CAN-FD.
Fault injection demonstrates safety mechanisms catching the fault and commanding a safe reaction inside a defined time budget.
What This Demonstrates
- Lockstep MCU real-time control loop
- Jitter-bounded response with scope proof
- E2E-protected safety heartbeat on CAN-FD
- Deliberate fault injection and safe reaction
- Safety mechanism implementation with measured reaction times
- Simulation-first to hardware validation workflow
