We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer who enjoys owning designs from concept through production and understands what happens from power entry to validated silicon on the bench. This role is ideal for someone who likes schematic and PCB ownership, bring-up debugging, and building robust hardware foundations for embedded products.
You will work on mixed-signal and high-speed embedded platforms across automotive and industrial domains, contributing from architecture and schematic capture through layout support, prototype validation, and manufacturing handoff.
What You'll Do
- Own hardware architecture, schematic design, and component selection for ARM-based embedded boards.
- Drive PCB layout requirements, design reviews, and DFM/DFT readiness with layout and manufacturing partners.
- Define and implement power architecture, isolation domains, and protection strategies for multi-rail systems.
- Integrate high-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet, SerDes/RGMII-class links) and ensure signal-integrity / EMC-aware design practices.
- Support board bring-up, hardware validation, and root-cause analysis of electrical issues.
- Produce and maintain production BOM, assembly notes, test points, and fab/assembly packages for prototype and pilot builds.
- Collaborate with firmware, embedded Linux, and system engineering teams across the full product lifecycle.
- Interface with suppliers, fabs, and contract manufacturers to resolve availability, alternates, and build issues.
- Continuously improve design quality through design reviews, lessons learned, and revision control of hardware artifacts.
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience designing multi-layer PCBs for embedded products.
- Solid understanding of analog/digital fundamentals, power integrity, and high-speed design practices.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB collaboration workflows (e.g. Altium or equivalent).
- Experience taking boards from first prototype through bring-up and iterative hardware fixes.
- Familiarity with automotive and/or industrial design constraints (temperature, EMC, isolation, connector systems).
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills using lab equipment.
- Understanding of the complete hardware development lifecycle (concept → SCH/PCB → fab → validation → production).
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and passionate about learning new technologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ARM MCU/MPU based platforms and associated reference designs.
- Familiarity with Automotive Ethernet, CAN/CAN FD, LIN, or similar vehicle/industrial networks.
- Experience with galvanic isolation, multi-domain grounding, and ESD/surge protection design.
- Knowledge of USB SuperSpeed, Gigabit Ethernet magnetics/PHY attach, and SerDes layout guidelines.
- Experience preparing EMS fab packages (Gerbers, BOM, PnP, assembly drawings).
- Exposure to TSN, MACsec-class PHYs, or secured networking hardware (as applicable).
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and JTAG/SWD bring-up tools.
- Experience working within distributed or remote engineering teams.
